It’s been two years since I purchased Urban Outfitters’ beloved Elise Vanity collection. The reason for my obsession with this vanity set is the world famous Italian design of Vanity Desk Luigi Masonic and a chair.
I adore all elements of home design and decor from the ’60s, especially mid-century modern, and this vanity set perfectly embodies that era.
It is practical and elegant. I first discovered these offices around 2016-2017, when I was pregnant with twins. Given impending motherhood, my priorities were different at the time, and I couldn’t justify spending $1,500 on a vanity set. However, looking back, I think I had to go for it. Hahahahaha.
Pricing for the vanity set itself currently starts at $10,000: making it a truly valuable investment piece.
When I stumbled upon this affordable Urban Outfitters Elise Vanity version, I was smitten. However, due to financial constraints after the COVID-19 pandemic, I wasn’t immediately able to purchase this vanity set at just $599.
After considering making this purchase for myself, I finally decided to go for it.
Is Urban Outfitters Elise Vanity Set worth it?
the price
By the time I decided to buy the set, the price had already increased to $649, with an additional $100 delivery fee. Over the past two years, the price of this vanity set has continued to rise. It was only available online for a couple of months, then it was sold out or unavailable, only to come back at a higher price.
I noticed that the price had gone up to $799 after my purchase. Then it became unavailable for more than six months.
Now, it’s finally back in stock at $999.
Is Elise Vanity Worth $999?
To be honest, given the post-COVID price hike for unique furniture items, the $999 price tag seems reasonable. Especially given my obsession with Luigi Massoni’s version of this collection, we’d say it’s a worthwhile investment.
Even vanity sets without significant design elements are priced higher, typically around $500 to $600. In my case, it was definitely worth it. Additionally, it is important to note that I purchased this item for $300-400 less than its current price.
If you are the type of person who frequently sits on the vanity to do your makeup or skin care routine, this piece of furniture will be used daily. Always keep “use-cost” in mind when buying something very expensive.
Quality of the Elise Vanity Collection
I have mixed feelings about the quality of the Elise Vanity.
In my opinion, it’s a bit wobbly, but the manufacturer has already provided a set of screws to permanently secure the table in place. However, I haven’t used it because I like to rearrange my furniture a lot.
The angles of the bamboo also make it difficult to assemble the set perfectly, as in Luigi Massoni’s original designs. However, this is not a big deal for me, as the nature of the materials adds a unique touch to each set.
the design
The design is what makes this vanity set so desirable.
I fell in love with Luigi Massoni’s original design for its compactness, practicality, and sinuous shapes. It all comes together beautifully.
Design is particularly valuable, especially for those who live in cities with limited space, such as New York. In addition, having a mirror that can be closed keeps the makeup table free of dust and allows you to hide the mess after a messy makeup session.
delivery
I purchased this set on August 8, 2021 and received it on October 13. My delivery date was pushed back three to four times, but I didn’t feel too upset because they informed me in advance of possible delays.
However, it was frustrating because I had debated this purchase for months, and once I finally made the decision I had to wait and wait.
Final thoughts
do i like it very silly.
Is it worth paying $999 plus the $100 delivery fee? I’m not sure for you. I need to check pricing and availability of alternate versions, including the original Luigi Massoni design, which I’ve been dying to. If I could find the original design I’ve been dreaming of for around $2,000, I’d probably go for that option. However, Luigi’s set is very hard to find and now I’ve seen two of these at $13,000. So Elise Vanity Set, I’ll buy you again at $1,000 any time.
