The Unsung Heroes of Makeup: NARS Deep Throat Blush

What is the unsung hero of makeup? For me, it’s often an underrated makeup morsel, a perennial product line that’s gone under the radar screen of many a makeup lover but regularly rocks my world. The long-running Unsung Heroes series features some of my favorites.

I realize that NARS Orgasm is widely believed to be the true round-up of the NARS multi-blush universe, and sure, I totally understand why so many people love it…but NARS Deep Throat to me is a much better peachy-pink option. Without much effort.

Like Orgasm, it looks amazing in a wiiiide A range of skin tones, but it lacks Orgasm’s intense golden pearl, which is a good thing in this case, especially if you have pores—like I do.

I really like that I can’t see Deep Throat’s golden shimmer unless I’m in a magnifying mirror. Most of the time, all you see is pretty color.

In terms of effect, it’s just enough. Do not spend. Plus, it’s easy to apply, looks just as natural on bare skin as it does over full-coverage foundation, and you can dress it up or dress it down.

I think it’s a perfect summer blush, and PS, if you love MAC Springsheen, I think you’ll love this one too.
