The little things that bring me joy (make-up, etc.)

Chanel summer 2023

1. The travel-sized Chanel Summer Collection

I’m excited for this launch! I feel like this is the collection that Chanel fans (especially those like me, who adore summer launches) have always wanted but didn’t know they needed. It’s sleek and easy to carry, with just enough coverage and color for beautiful summer skin, eyes, cheeks, and lips.

Launching in June, it includes gentle, travel-friendly versions of the Bronzing Cream (Tan, Tan Medium, and Tan Deep Bronze), the Water-Fresh Tint (in 8 shades from Light to Deep Plus), and the Illuminating Oil.

There’s also Rouge Coco Flash lipsticks (Destination beige pink and Sienna red Escapade), two metallic liquid shadows (Rayon ivory beige and Rose Quartz) and two Rouge Coco Baume sheer lip balms (Pink Delight and Mauve Sweet Treat). These all seem to be the regular size, not the mini size, by the way.

Yes!!!

I am especially excited about the cream bronzer because it was a staple for me back in the day! A smaller version looks purr fect.

2. When you feel fun, exercise

I found this fun walking workout with 80’s music this morning!

I was feeling tired and not in the mood at all to do burpees or mountain climbers, and that was exactly what I needed to get my body moving.

I’ve had this idea in my head from years of running and doing HIIT that always meant one would be a little miserable in order to finally get the endorphins going, but I now know that that simply isn’t true. Not all exercise needs to feel punishing, LOL! Sometimes it’s fun to move.

So, lately, I’ve been trying to incorporate more enjoyable movement (aka exercise that isn’t like exercise) throughout my day.

One thing I love – walking for 8 minutes. Why 8 minutes? Well, 10 minutes sometimes feels like a very big commitment, and 5 minutes just doesn’t feel like enough. For some reason, 8 is a good number for me, and if you do it three times before noon, that’s an extra 24 minutes of movement.

3. These little lemon slices are from Trader Joe’s

I bought a box of these years ago and for whatever reason it wasn’t in them, but I recently picked one up on a whim, and it definitely hit the spot.

I just ate this. BTW, the nail polish is Chanel 141 Oiseu De Nuit!

Maybe they modified the recipe? Who do you know. Whatever they did, they are now perfect.

The custard is tangy, not overly sweet, and has a chewy (but not too chewy) texture. The shortbread at the bottom is also there but it doesn’t take over. If you’re in the mood for a lemon bar but don’t feel like making your own, now’s the moment. You can find it in the frozen section by way of ice cream.

Friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen
