Aloha, Kitty!

This is the salutation I’ll be using TON over the next few days as we head to Hawaii to visit Pham Pam (Rosie chose to stay behind to take over her favorite pet-sitter).

While we’re there, I’ll be checking out the many Oahu-based companies under the Tabs the Cat Industries umbrella.

Tabs absolutely loved Oahu and visited it so often that he was a fixture on first class flights from the Bay Area. Sadly… he never upgraded his co-pilot’s seat, but I think a cat should do what a cat has to do to keep his business profitable.

I’m not bitter, I swear!

Anywho… Tabs has started several upscale businesses dedicated to serving cat customers on the islands.

Closest to his heart was the exclusive, invitation-only spa on North Beach, famous for its luxurious shiatsu massages and fur treatments.

Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, visits at least twice a year for claw treatments and manicures and pedicures.

Also, if you know a cat looking to tie the knot, the company’s wedding/paw planning arm offers full-service, upscale destination wedding planning in the most cat-friendly and cat-friendly setting on Oahu.

It was his snow business, however, that was the money maker. There are several locations in major tourist centers around the island, each offering cat shave ice made with healthy, local farm-to-table organic ingredients.

Catnip ice is the most popular…

But our gravy ice is a close second.

Next time you visit Oahu with your cat, be sure to take him or her along.

I offered to take Rosie on this trip, but she replied, “Science waits for no one.” I think she’s very busy.

I hope she and her pet don’t turn the house into an impromptu lab… that’s what happened last time, and it took forever to clean the place up.

The beakers were filthy everywhere, and Rosie looked like she was sleeping in a lab coat. sigh!
