Summer friday check in: best co-washing, advent, and moving forward

happy Friday! All I’ve been wearing lately is sunscreen, LOL! And yes, I know my hair is crazy.

Happy Friday, my friend.

I have a weird new favorite thing to do first thing in the morning: checking the pollen count on multiple weather sites! My allergies have been spiraling out of control lately, so it’s been really insightful to see what things are floating in the air that my body rejects, ha ha.

I seem to be severely allergic to ragweed pollen, which has been popping up in my neck in the woods for the past few days.

All of this to say that i am back to washing my hair every single day to remove the pollen that is in there.

I was previously on a every other day washing schedule because as i get older my hair gets thinner and washing it less seems to help a lot in keeping more of it on my scalp.

At this point, though, I’d rather have less pollen in my hair for sinus aggravation at night, which leads me to something I picked up at Ulta the other day, not your mom’s Curl Talk 3-in-1 conditioner.

Good things!

You can use it as a leave-in conditioner, or a traditional rinse-out conditioner after shampooing or co-washing, which is what I do. It’s one of those tried and true products that I always come back to.

It’s lightweight and doesn’t weigh down my wavy hair, and it keeps frizz under control. I also like how it feels when I rinse it off. Some co-washes leave behind a thick, heavy film on my strands, and this one doesn’t.

Even if you don’t have curly hair, I think it’s still worth a try, especially if you prefer conditioners that leave your hair with a lot of bounce.

Oh, and the price! 12 ounce bottle $8.99. Very affordable and easy to find – two of my favorite things.

FYI, if you are sensitive to scent, it smells a bit like fruit flavor, but not overpowering.

Anyway, besides dealing with the sensitivity, everything else on this finish was just fine. I found out earlier this week that my time at Amorepacific/Laneige is coming to an end very soon. They won’t be needing a freelancer in August, so while I’m a little disappointed moving forward, I’ll assume it’s because the universe has bigger and better writing plans for me.

On that note, I’m now trying to show a gig with Olive & June! Send those nail polish graffiti vibes vibes to the universe…

Are you listening, beauty goddesses?

Other than that, though, I feel pretty good. It’s summer and Friday, and I’m hanging out with this little dancer! She doesn’t have camp today, so we’ll do nails, and then she’ll help me find some Father’s Day gifts.

I hope you are well and that things on your end are peaceful.

Friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen
