Monday’s Makeup and Beauty Blog Poll, Vol. 788

So… what is Monday’s poll?

Excellent question! It is not, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like the little buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions that I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

1. What’s more annoying, chin hair or upper lip hair?

Upper lip hair, for sure! I feel like I’m waxing and everything is good for like a hot second. Next thing I know Sharp’s Magnum PI has suddenly set up shop!

2. The last scary thing you saw?

The first two episodes of the new “Black Mirror”.

3. Pick three types of fruits for a fruit salad this Fourth of July!

Watermelon for the yum, blackberries for color contrast and apples for crunch.

4. Your favorite length of shorts?

Not too long, not too short. Somewhere in between, which usually happens when the hem hits halfway down my thigh. Dang, I have to say, I miss the days when I could wear shorts without a second thought! There was a time in my youth when my standard summer outfit was short shorts, a tank top, and flip flops, and I miss being able to get away with this relaxed, casual look.

5. Where is the best place to get a cup of coffee in your city?

Marine Coffee Roasters. Their coffee never gives me a stomach ache, and I can always have oat milk in my latte. I love Starbucks lattes because of their consistency, but it’s really hard hit or miss if I’m going to get out of there without some sort of tummy problem, and I have a goat stomach.

6. Has anything unexpected happened this summer yet?

Well my seasonal allergy was totally bananas! It’s been an unusually long allergy season. Sneezing and sniffing usually ends in May!

7. What do you think of physical exfoliators?

I think they can be helpful, especially if you have acne. Ideally, it combines a very gentle physical exfoliation with a chemical one. If you are looking for a good product, Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel Powder is a game changer!

8. The last new food you tried?

I tried the split from Wicked Slush (see photo above). It’s a mix of slush, which is kind of like Shave Ice, and soft serve ice cream.

Hello my friend! How has your day been so far? Are you taking her for the long weekend? I’m working today, but I’m going to take Connor to the pool in the afternoon to burn off some energy.

We’ve been practically living in the pool for the past few days, and this bottle of Banana Boat Light as Air Sunscreen has been our jam lately, mostly because it’s so lightweight and doesn’t feel sticky or heavy on the skin. Try it out if you haven’t already!

What are your plans for the Fourth of July holiday? Tonight we’ll try to catch some fireworks in a nearby town, and then tomorrow we’ll meet up with our neighbors to hang out and grill. It is likely that the collector will also be involved.
