Monday’s Makeup and Beauty Blog Poll, Vol. 778

So… what is Monday’s poll?

Excellent question! It is not, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like the little buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions that I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

1. Mineral or chemical sunscreen today?

Chemical filters today. Minerals have not been playing well with my skin lately. (very dry.)

2. Which ’80s trend would you meow right back in: big hair, oversized shoulder pads, or a bright, defined blush?

Big hair for sure, but I’d like to update it somehow to make it trendy. I’d use less frizzy styling products (gosh, remember how wavy everyone’s hair was?) and skip the spiral curls.

3. Something nice happened last weekend?

We went on a short family overnight trip to Sacramento to cheer on Connor at a dance competition. I really enjoyed it. Family time at this age (she turned 7) is the best!

4. The last piece of makeup that impressed you?

Caviar Shadow Stick in a strap by Laura Mercier! It’s a gorgeous matte taupe that I bought on a whim last week.

5. Are you ready for summer?

Yes and no. We’ve had a long, rainy winter, and we’re tired of being cold, so I’m looking forward to getting warm again. At the same time, though, I’m not ready for it to be hot every time I step outside my front door, LOL! I definitely look forward to being outside and going camping. I can’t wait to spend time with Coywolf too.

6. Rate your current makeup skill from 1 to 10 (with 10 being off the charts being unbelievable).

Well, in general? I’m guessing about six or seven if we’re talking strictly about everyday wearable makeup, LOL! I’m completely out of practice when it comes to makeup for photography and creative looks.

7. Choose one: an exquisite wardrobe that fits you perfectly or a hairdresser who knows your hair well and cuts it to perfection?

While the designer’s holy grail would certainly come in handy, I’m tired of wearing the same five T-shirts over and over again. I would wear clothes on the condition that I didn’t have to spend time shopping for them.

8. What are we going to do on Friday night – karaoke or dancing?

Oh girl, let’s do both!

9. Where is the best place in your town to have lunch with a friend?

There are two places I love – Blue Barn for salads and hash browns, and Creekside Bakery for avocado roasting, which is a purr!

10. What’s on your lips today?

Good old NARS Dolce Vita, but in crayon form. Best lip crayon over lipstick these days!
