MBB reader recommendations for conditioning hair products that don’t weigh your strands down!

I ruffle my hair, check my nails…

Good morning, my beautiful friend! Last Saturday/Caturday it really worked when I asked for recommendations for hair products that moisturize without weighing down your strands. Thank you very much. My dry skin and I are ready to invest in some new stuff.

Get ready to take some notes…

MBB Reader recommended hair products for girls over 40!

It’s 10 Miracle Leave-In Lite with 10 Benefits, $40

This leave-in conditioner is designed to repair and restore, detangle and eliminate frizz without the weight.

CL says she’s been using it for a couple of years now, and that it “works really well at detangling, smoothing, and moisturizing (a little).”

OGX Coconut Miracle Oil, $10

Oh, i love the price of this hair oil treatment! It is designed to repair and smooth thick hair while adding softness and shine.

Laura says she found this product by following Abbey Yeung, who recommends using the oil from mid-lengths to ends *before* shampooing to help with moisture and hair health.

Recommendations Susan C

Susan made this extensive list of recommendations. Thanks Susan!

In her words:

Yes, I agree – I’ve just turned 40 and it’s as if I have the hair on someone else’s head. I had to completely change the way they are designed, the products we use, and definitely how they can/can’t be cut. You get it, but there were some really dark and dark hairstyling years in between.

Some products I recommend:

  1. Superfood Avocado + Kiwi Leave-in by Briogeo. Great detangler, you don’t need much, and it doesn’t weigh hair down. (I love Briogeo so much!)
  2. Also, my niece swears by the OGX Nourishing + Coconut Miracle Oil, specifically the spray, to fight frizz.
  3. But here’s my usual routine: Wash with Paul Mitchell’s Awapuhi shampoo, condition every other shower with Trader Joe’s Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Mask (about $4 5 oz), and a small dab of K√©rastase Elixir Ultime Hydrating Hair Oil Serum when hair is dry. (The small size lasted me for months.) When I’m not using a TJ mask, I use Briogeo.

Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother, $30

This leave-in smoothing, conditioning and strengthening hair styling treatment is made for all hair types! Rachel recommends it, and says, “Just use it on your ends and it works really well when you’re in between the edges and the ends look dry! I got a sample of it and have since bought two full sizes. It’s not heavy at all.”

Should we keep this list going? I think so! If you have any recommendations and would like to rate it, please leave a comment below.

Thanks again girls! Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen
