Sometimes I like to do this thing where I choose a few words or phrases to set the tone for my week! This week’s phrase is “Fill your cup.”
It’s basically a reminder to be kind to myself — to do things throughout my day and week to rejuvenate my physical or mental health in some way.
Are you good to fill your cup?
I’m not good at it. I’m the kind of person who will cycle through my day from morning till night constantly checking one task after the other to get on with work and life, but I forget to build time for myself to really rest and recover.
So, I’m trying to get better at filling a cup! Because I love lists, I started by making a short list:
- get enough sleep (go to bed at 8 o’clock)
- Wake up at 5:30
- I enjoy all things personal care: skincare, doing my hair, ironing my daily clothes, etc.
- Spend the rest of the time before 7 doing fun things just for me! Ideas: journaling, reading, exercise (but it can’t be some kind of torture, like stretching or yoga)
- Some kind of interesting hobby, like photography
It’s only been 2 days and I can already feel a difference in my body and in my mood. I think it really helps that you have this time to do something nice for you and only you.
What are the ways you fill your cup on a daily basis?
Do you draw, do sports, dance or read? I’d like to know what fuels you.
Friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
