Fun with Olive & June Summer Brights

Two layers of how do you spell infernal?

Well, whatever you do, don’t – don’t! – Try removing your nail polish by sticking a toe in the Olive & June nail polish remover jar.

I’m going to file this life lesson under “Things that seemed like a good idea at the time.”

Ha ha ha!

However, getting nail polish off the fingers is another story. It’s very easy – put a nail into the bowl, which has a pre-moistened sponge inside, and stir it a few times.

It’s less of a hassle compared to needing a cotton pad and a bottle of nail polish remover. It’s so easy, in fact, that I make it my weekly nail maintenance routine.

In any case! It was a really fun nail polish with the Olive & June Mani System that my friend Marisol gave me for my birthday. Connor was enjoying it too and even volunteered to help with swatches.

Two layers of House of O&J (left) and two layers of Not a Cloud (right)

We’re wearing three of the six new summer colors! On my fingers, I wear two coats of how do you spell bougainvillea? House of O&J Connor Track Coat Not a Cloud.

The only thing that’s interesting to me about these particular shades is that they have a coverage level that isn’t completely opaque, so even with two coats, you can see a little bit of your nail whites running off if you look closely. (You can’t see it at arm’s length, in case you were wondering.)

These shadows have a tiny smidge of translucency in them, which seems to go with all my gel mani’s going in lately!

I naturally prefer a nugget of color, but the more i wear the gel hues, the more i love my go-to look.

All this to say – even when you know exactly what you like, you never know if you’re going to get into a new trend until you try it.

Have you tried this type of jelly mane yet? I think you should try it!

Friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen
