Cat lady things and ideas

1. Rosie has a mysterious benefactor! Someone slipped a packet of Fancy Feast into my mailbox yesterday. Does this mean I’ve officially reached iconic cat lady status? maybe?
2. Rosie’s new favorite place to sleep at night is next to my head. She’s pressing her tiny body against my hair, so her purr practically enters my mind, ha-ha-ha!



3. I found a new artist of mine called Snakes and Roses on Instagram who creates beautiful, old-fashioned art that combines cats and mystical elements. A few of my favourites:
4. I recently read a story about a mother with a young child whose daughter was having a hard time getting ready for school in the morning. Her daughter fought it every step of the way, from getting out of bed, to changing clothes, to having breakfast, etc. One day, all of a sudden, the mommy decided to turn herself into a cat, LOL!
   

   

   As “Meow-Meow the cat,” she would offer to help her daughter make her bed, choose her outfit for the day, etc., and for some reason, the little act of turning into a cat made her daughter willing and receptive! I’ll try it next time Connor’s having a hard time.

   Moral of this story: When it gets tough, go for the cats.

5. It’s been a long time since I’ve rocked a proper cat eye. A large part of it is because the shape of my eyelids has changed so much in the past few years; They’re really convincing now, and finding a cat-eye look that matches this latest evolution of my face has been incredibly challenging.
   

   

   I was looking in the mirror last night and making funny faces just for the sake of it (please tell me I’m not the only person doing this).

   I’ve noticed my skin is moving and tightening in ways it wasn’t used to. I always try to remind myself that today is the youngest I’ll ever be for the rest of my life, but still…it’s weird how old they are.
