Congratulations on the first day of the new week. This week we would like to talk about antioxidants, which are very important for all of us and play a leading role in the cleansing and regeneration processes of our body.
Antioxidants are heroes that cleanse the blood of oxidation caused by free radicals. Free radicals circulate in our blood as by-products resulting from the burning of sugar and fat by the mitochondria, the energy source of the cell, and cause oxidation, a kind of rusting, and aging. At this point, antioxidants come into play, which cleanse our body of this reaction. Our immunity depends on this process, and our cells are healthy and young.
So how do we get antioxidants? While some of these can be produced by our body, we must get some of them from our diet. Dark chocolate, blackberries, strawberries, beets, artichokes, spinach, pomegranates, black grapes, walnuts, whole grains, poultry, and fish are high in antioxidants.
Considering that pesticides cause oxidation in cellular structures, the fact that these foods are organic will go a long way to reap the full benefits.
Have a great week everyone!
